Rosie O’Donnell grew up in a Commack, NY. She grew up during the baby boomer generation. At this time in history it was normal to have 7 or more children. In Commack, NY in the years she was in high school there were some many kids in the town they needed to have two high schools. One being Commack North High School and the other Commack South High School. Rosie O’Donnell went Commack South High School.
In present day Commack only has one high school. As a teenager people that knew her would describe her ae very outgoing and popular. All fitting characteristics of a person who would have dreams of becoming famous.
Rosie originally started out as a movie actress performing a role in the movie a “a League of Their Own.” This block buster film of a predominate female cast featured super famous stars like Madonna and Tom Hanks.
She would continue to feature in movies of the silver screen such as the 90s film Harriet the Spy starring a kid detective and Wilma on the Flintstones movie.

As we all know this record breaking talk show was called “The Rosie O’Donnell” show. Her talk show was a top contender amongst her competitors like Oprah, Regis Philbman and more. Her show would open doors for many other comedic women to gain their own guest to host interview formats. Some highlights of her the Rosie O’Donnell show was her obsession with the mega movie star Tom Cruise and her candid humor. Mothers and women alike were her main fan base. Eventually her Rosie O’Donnell would host her last television show on May 22, 2002. This was the end for the Rosie O’Donnell show but not the end for Rosie O’Donnell’s career. She would feature in more films and make guest appearances on television programs.
Although the lime light surrounding Rosie O’Donnell would begin to dim. Around the late 1990s to the early 2000s it was becoming more culturally accepted to be gay or lesbian. From the highly rated reality show “Queer eye for the straight guy.” To Ellen DeGeneres coming out on her television sitcom “Ellen” and in real life. Who by coincidence would end up having her own self titled television talk show program.
The tabloids and press made it front page news the coming out of Rosie O’Donnell. Even though culture and society were starting to realize prejudice towards gay and lesbians was wrong it still stirred up controversy.
This led to even more controversies surrounding Rosie O’Donnell. She started going off the hinges and became cruder to in the eyes of the public. Such as paparazzi outbursts and being unreasonable to deal with as a fellow entertainer and in her personal life.
She would cement her fall from grace when joining on the long running popular talk show called the view. This day time talk shows format had a panel of famous female celebrities with strong and bold personalities such as whoopie Goldberg, Barbara Walters, Joy Beyer, others. Rosie O’Donnell’s time on the view was a most controversial one. She may go down as one of the most jaw dropping hosts with her outlandish statements. On one occasion she suggested to the audience live on the view to treat your baby’s health by allowing a dog to lick their private parts. This coupled with a truck load of off color comments lead to her no longer on the panel of the famed television program the view.
Her fall from grace would only begin to tumble further down the hill of self destruction. Rosie O’Donnell found herself in a petty childish feud with then celebrity business man Donald Trump. They would exchange rude insults back and forth towards one another like immature kids on a playground. Rosie O’Donnell called Donald Trump a many insulting names and he called her rude names like a fat disgusting pig.
To her misfortune in 2016 her former food fighting enemy would become the 45th president of the united states. This of course did not sit well with Rosie O’Donnell as she protested and became an outspoken activist against President Donald Trump. She took it to an extreme when she broke the law by illegally funding trumps opponent Hillary Clinton.
Now in present day Rosie O’Donnell is not known for her early golden years in the industry. She has now rebranded herself as an unhinged celebrity and a strong activist against Donald Trump.
